Winter finds us in cooler temperatures here in the Northern Hemisphere and this time of year is very yin, a time to go inwards, so wouldn’t it be nice to spend some time having a conscious nap?

For many this time of year, along with the massive shifts we have been experiencing within the world have given us much to think about, and is causing many to experience more anxiety and heightened emotions. Yoga Nidra may bring relief to the body, by:

  • reducing stress and depression symptoms
  • relieving anxiety
  • helping you have deeper sleeps
  • balance immune system, cortisol levels, and blood pressure

These are a few of the many wonderful benefits, but why not try it for yourself and see and feel what you experience by joining this class. You have nothing to loose….except that anxiety and stress 😉

Yoga Nidra, also called conscious sleep, is like a deep meditation, where participants lay on the ground/mat and allow the mind to take a break while the body stays alert. Does this sound confusing or complicated? Don’t worry, follow the sound of my voice and allow yourself to completely relax. 

No experience with yoga or meditation is necessary,  everyone is welcome. Book your spot and invite your friends.

What you need:

  • stable internet connection
  • a place that is quiet, where you will be undisturbed
  • yoga mat, blanket (your body temperature may lower so make sure you will be warm), pillow (whatever you need to make yourself comfortable)
  • a blindfold or scarf (optional)

Kortney Sharanya is a Yoga Nidra Teacher and Hypnotherapist who has been working with others in the wellness world for over 10 years. She is a multi-passionate practitioner, with a background in yoga, meditation, holistic nutrition, womb medicine, and herbalism, she has found that understanding more about yoga nidra to be profoundly healing and extremely helpful during times of stress.
